August 5, 2008- The Board of Supervisors’ approved plans and specifications to award a contract for the pavement rehabilitation of 20 miles of roads in the Bardsdale community near the City of Fillmore.

June 25, 2008-The County of Ventura unveiled the REVERSE 911® system that has the ability to place automated calls to residents in the event of an emergency for use in affected areas regarding evacuation notices, hazardous materials releases, community policing activities and public health emergencies. The system’s database currently includes both listed and unlisted landline telephone numbers, but does not include cellular, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), or TTY numbers. To register those numbers click here to be directed to the REVERSE 911® website or call the Public Information Hotline at (805) 648-9283. The system covers all the areas in the County except for the cities of Ventura, Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley.

April 22, 2008- Supervisor Long extends a big THANK YOU to the Camarillo Friends of the Library for their generous donation of $200,000 to the Ventura County Library. The donation will be used to purchase Adult and Children’s Library material for the new Camarillo Library.

April 8, 2008- The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Supervisor Long’s recommendation to support Audra Strickland’s Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 116 to name Route 101 in eastern Camarillo in honor of Adolfo Camarillo.
