Agricultural inspectors inspect and certify local producers and farmers’ markets to assure that the agricultural commodities are marketed to the consumer directly from the grower.

Inspectors register organic producers, handlers, wholesalers and retailers as part of the California Organic Program.

They also enforce fruit, nut, vegetable and egg quality control regulations, including citrus maturity standards.
