Regular visiting hours are from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM for most patients.
In the Neonatal ICU, there is no visiting from 6:45 am to 7:15 am and from 6:45 PM to 7:15 PM
In the Emergency Room, visits should not exceed two visitors per patient.
In the ICU, visitors will be restricted to immediate family. The visiting hours are five (5) minutes per hour, 24 hours a day, at nursing staff discretion. No children with communicable diseases will be permitted to visit. Flowers can be a source of infection and a safety hazard in the unit. Please limit the size and number of arrangements.
In OB, father of the baby may stay in postpartum or antepartum. Siblings must be accompanied by an adult. With labor and delivery, patients are allowed two visitors at a time, 24 hours a day.
Hospital Visiting Rules
For the welfare of our patients please observe the following visiting practices at VCMC:
All visitors must check in at the Nurses' Station before visiting a patient.
Two visitors per patient
No visitors under the age of thirteen (13) with the exception of a brother or sister of a child who is a patient in Pediatrics or NICU. They may visit under these conditions:
One child at a time may visit, during regular visiting hours only, under adult supervision and with the consent of the the nurse in charge.
The child visitor must be in good health.
Please be as quiet as possible in the corridors and while in the patient rooms. Smoking is not permitted.
Please restrict visits to those visitors who are not ill or who may not transmit a communicable disease.
In order to help patients get well quickly, we ask that you keep your visits short and the conversation pleasant and cheerful.
