Special Media Storm Statement

Listed below are the all-time wettest and driest years on record. The 2004-05 and 2006-07 Water Years are highlighted in Bold.

The Old Timers' Rainfall Chart for Ventura Downtown (pdf) - Displays monthly rainfall in chart form for the entire period of record.

The Effects of El Nino/La Nina (Charts) - Shows the seasonal rainfall departure from Normal and shaded to the intensity of the El Nino/La Nina. El Nino/La Nina data provided by NOAA. NOAA is forecasting a weak to moderate El Nino for 2007. The developing El Nino started later than normal (Fall 2006). Similar late starting El Ninos occurred in 1970, 1977, 1978.
