Hazardous & Electronic Waste Collection Programs
Computer and Electronics Disposal

Several options are available to Ventura County residents and businesses to responsibly recycle outmoded household electronics, such as:

Televisions and computer monitors or cathode ray tubes (CRT's) (Limit 5 per event/month) Computer peripherals(mouse, keyboard, CD drivers, floppy drivers, etc)
Printers and scanners Cellular phones
PDA's and pagers Stereo systems (cassette and CD players, small AM/FM radios, etc)
Fax and copy machines VCR and DVD players
Central processing units (CPUs) Laptops
Video games stations (x-box, playstation, gameboy, etc)

 

The Ventura County Integrated Waste Management Division wants to thank you for taking the time to safely dispose and recycle your electronic related equipment. E-Waste has become a serious disposal problem and our goal is to recycle or reuse as much E-Waste as possible.
Listed below are government sponsored E-Waste Disposal sites, private collection businesses, and Re-use Programs.
NOTE: Each site has its own E-Waste policy on what items they accept, any charges, and if they accept business waste. Please call individual locations for information.

Collection for all residents and businesses. Accepts all CRTs (TVs - including console TVs, large screen, plasma, LCD - and computer monitors) greater than 4" large (measured diagonally) for FREE. Also accepts all other Consumer Electronic Waste (CEW) for a nominal charge. Small CEW items that can be carried by hand (such as printers, scanners, or fax machines) are $5; large items (such as office copiers or servers that require a fork lift or hand truck to move) are $10 each. Also accepts cell phones, gaming devices, and controllers for $1.

G.I. Industries Trash Service customers residing in Oak Park can contact G.I. Industries for information on proper E-Waste disposal and/or recycling of CRT’s. Open Monday - Friday, 5 PM to 7 PM & Saturday, 8 AM - 5 PM.

For all unincorporated areas and the cities of Fillmore, Santa Paula, and Ojai. Collection events are held quarterly and are limited to 3 computer/television/CRT’s monitors per event.

Thrift Stores - various locations.

County's listing service provides residents the opportunity to place a Free ad in the VCMAX catalog and website for working electronic equipment that could be used by others.

For all unincorporated areas and the cities of Fillmore, Santa Paula, and Ojai. Collection events are held on the fourth Saturday of each month, with the exceptions of May, November, and December due to holidays during those months. Limited to 3 computer/television/CRT’s monitors per event.

For larger businesses in Ventura County that, due to generation volumes, cannot participate in the programs listed above, there are several companies to choose from that operate in the Ventura County area.
