The County of Ventura Human Services Agency provides public services that promote self-sufficiency, health and well-being. Our programs help ensure the protection of children, the elderly and dependent adults, and provide a safety net for individuals and families who need assistance with food, housing and health care. Homeless or facing eviction? County and city government have joined to operate the Homeless Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), which makes funding available to local residents who are homeless or about to be evicted. HPRP funds earmarked to assist individuals and families AVOID eviction and PREVENT homelessness from their current rentals - eviction prevention funds - are now available. Fingerprint Imaging No Longer required for CalFresh applicants. After December 31, 2011, fingerprint imaging for CalFresh will no longer be required. The new legislation, known as AB6, will bring California in line with 47 other states by removing the fingerprint imaging requirement for CalFresh applicants seeking food assistance. Fingerprint imaging is still required for the CalWORKs program.

The Keep Your Home California program offers temporary mortgage assistance and is focused on assisting low and moderate income families stay in their homes, when possible, and leveraging additional contributions from mortgage servicers.
