Passed by voters in November 2006 and currently administered by the Department of Water Resources (DWR), Proposition 84 (Chapter 2) Integrated Regional Water Management Grant Program provides funding for projects that assists local public agencies (such as WCVC) to meet long term water needs of the state including the delivery of safe drinking water and the protection of water quality and the environment. DWR is currently in the initial phases of the funding implementation. Program guidelines and proposals are currently under development.

Chapter 2 of the Act provides $1 billion for water-related grants statewide, including $215 million to the Los Angeles/Ventura County Region. Projects funded by Chapter 2 must be consistent with a locally adopted and State approved Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Plan.
