The County of Ventura Privacy Policy - An Overview

The County of Ventura is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of its citizens and those doing business with County Government.

1. What information is gathered/tracked - Sometimes, the County will seek certain information -- such as name, Internet address (IP address), address, credit card number -- in order to provide that service or product to you. The County may also seek more general information concerning specific areas of interest so that both you and we can take advantage of the interactivity of the online medium, but you may always choose to respond or not.
   
2. How the information is used - Access to County Government services online automatically gathers certain usage information like the numbers and frequency of visitors to its sites. This collective data helps to determine how our sites are used, so we can improve them on an ongoing basis.
   
3. With whom information is shared - The County does not use or disclose information about your individual visits or information that you may give us, such as your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number, to organizations outside of the County. But, the information provided may be subject to public disclosure upon request.
