Grand Jury Structure

The Presiding Judge of the Superior Court appoints the foreman to preside over the Grand Jury. The Grand Jury body selects the following officers to conduct general business:

  • Foreman Protem
  • Recording Secretary
  • Correspondence Secretary
  • Archivist/Librarian
  • Treasurer
  • Sergeant at Arms
  • Parliamentarian
  • Protocol Coordinator
  • Computer Support

The Grand Jury is provided support by county and/or court employees if requested. The Grand Jury can seek the legal advice of the County Counsel on civil matters and the District Attorney on criminal matters.

In order to accomplish its tasks committees are established.

External Committees - Review complaints and performs investigations.
