Members of Ventura County Boards, Commissions, Committees, and Districts participate in advisory efforts for a wide variety of issues affecting all residents of Ventura County. The Ventura County Board of Supervisors makes direct appointments to approximately 63 boards, commissions, committees, and districts.
With boards functioning at all levels, dedicated citizens have the opportunity to participate in developing a wide variety of governmental policies. Some of the major issues range from economic development, education, conservation, health and human services.
The boards/commissions/committees/districts system contributes to the success of Ventura County, and is a key to bringing local citizens’ talent and interest.
