The Ventura County Watershed Protection District issues several types of Permits:
Watercourse Permit: You will need a Watercourse Permit for prospective land use within the District's jurisdictional channels, including the surrounding bed and banks.
Encroachment Permit: You will need an Encroachment Permit for prospective land use within the District's jurisdictional channels, including the surrounding bed and banks that is ALSO within the District's real estate holdings (fee and easement).
Well Permit: You will need a Well Permit when drilling water wells in the county. Well Permits also apply for the following procedures:
~ Construction, Modification, and Repair of all water wells;
~ Destruction of all wells, with certain exceptions;
~ Engineering Test Holes which are over 50 feet deep, in most cases.
