Veterans Services
The Human Services Agency recognizes the courageous service of Ventura County veterans and works hard to help them receive the benefits they have earned. The Veterans Services Office helps these men and women, as well as their families, gain access to financial assistance and medical treatment. We help veterans, people who have lost a spouse or parent in military service, and people whose spouse or parent has served in the military and is now disabled. Our office provides assistance to veterans, their dependents or survivors in obtaining veterans benefits from federal, state and local agencies.
Some of the services provided by our office include assistance with:
- Claims to the VA for service-connected compensation
- Pension for wartime veterans with non service-connected related disabilities (there is an income limit)
- California Tuition Fee Waiver Program
- Burial Benefits
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- Medical and dental referrals and information
- Transportation to VA medical facilities
- Home nursing care
- Alcohol and drug treatment
- Small Business Administration
If you or someone you know may be eligible to receive these benefits, please call our office at (805) 385-6366 or visit our office for further details.
